As the year winds down, I thought it would be worthwhile to look back and reflect on where I’ve been—and what I’ve been chasing—with a camera in hand. Taking a step back like this has a way of revealing patterns you don’t always notice while you’re busy moving forward.
A Wildlife‑Centric Year
It’s clear to me that, while I did shoot some landscapes (in both visible and near infrared light), 2025 was a very wildlife‑centric year. Of all the areas of photography I’m interested in, wildlife is the one where I’ve felt the strongest pull to improve. It’s challenging, humbling, and unforgiving—but also deeply rewarding. The good news is that, while I’m still a long way from anything resembling elite level, I can feel real progress happening. That alone makes the effort worth it.
A Year in Motion
To wrap things up, I put together a short video featuring some of my favorite images and clips from the year—mostly horizontal frames that lend themselves better to video. Fair warning: video editing is another skill that’s very much a work in progress, so be gentle with your critiques.
Thanks for taking a look, and here’s to getting back out there in 2026.
